Jack is a whopping 1-1/2 years old today!
I was loving how his hair looked so long and flowing when he laid down in the tub so I had Josh come in and take a picture. We're trying to see how long we can let it grow before cutting it. I had always planned on not giving him his first hair cut until he was a year old, but since we had to buzz it while he wore his helmet, this is the secondary plan.
Life with an 18 month old is starting to be different. Jack is becoming more demanding, mostly with small things like whether a light is turned on or off, or wanting to close a door. He is also trying to give up that nap of his again. I'd say 2 or 3 days a week he skips it and goes to bed around 6:00 or 6:30. It makes for a calm and relaxing evening but it sure is a long day! His verbal skills are continuing to build — he will sometimes ask or answer a few questions in a single conversation and he interrupts us while we read to him so he can say what's on the page instead. He is noticing numbers and letters all over the place — on a clock, newspaper, signs at stores, printed t-shirts and anywhere else numbers and letters can be found. As we stood outside of Target the other night, he saw the big letters spelling "PHARMACY" on the building and told me all of the letters! He is still a fantastic sleeper during the night, and normally gets up around 7:30 regardless of what time he went to sleep. He's just overall a super duper little boy. I can't believe he's almost 2!
