Jack loves the phone. He doesn't always hold much of a conversation on it, but he likes to hear who is on the other end as well as just holding the phone and walking around the house pretending to talk on it. In the last couple of days, though, he's pretended to be Grandma and Grandpa! While sitting in his high chair playing with my phone, he put it up to his ear and in a low voice he said, "Hi, Jack. It's Grappa." It was super funny! Then, this morning he held both sides of a short conversation with Grandma while having some alone time in his crib. He didn't have a phone, but during all of his babbling, he said "Gramma" and got excited. Here's what followed. "Hi, Jack. It's Gramma." "Hi, Gramma!" "Are you having fun?" I can't remember if that was the end or if he said something else, too. Patty keeps telling me to get an audio recorder for his room and I wish we had one. He says the funniest things when he's in there all by himself.
Jack and I were at Babies R' Us picking some stuff up for a baby shower and he decided that he really loved me while we were at the check out. Out of nowhere, he said, "I love you more, Mommy" so I said it back to him. He followed up with, "I like you more, Mommy," and we went back and forth a good 10 or 15 times. He thought it was so funny!
Josh and Jack went to go see Kate play basketball yesterday and, surprisingly, Jack had a great time. He sat on Josh's lap the whole time and even cheered "Go, Kate!" imitating another woman nearby. After the game, he spent some time running around the gym having a good time.
Occasionally Jack needs some alone time in his crib if he's fussy. He usually ends up filling his diaper during it, but sometimes he just hangs out, talks and calms himself down. This morning he just talked forever. After at least a half hour, Josh knocked on the door and Jack said, "Who's there?" Josh kept knocking and getting funny responses. If Josh said something in a funny voice, Jack would usually mimic him in the same tone of voice. Sometimes he would just giggle. When we finally opened the door he was excited to see us and was out of his funky mood.
The potty chair is still a toy, as expected. The other night he took it apart and tried to climb through it like he does with his tunnel!
I think that's about it for now. As soon as I take enough pictures and upload them to the computer, I'll have visuals to accompany my posts again.
