After talking to the pediatric triage nurse, I learned that he is old enough for cough medicine so we tried that last night. It seemed to help quite a bit, though he did need us to get up at 1:30 for some comforting. We tried to give him some milk and a cracker along with another dose of medicine, but he wouldn't eat or drink anything. He went back to sleep just fine for us after less than 10 minutes.
Today he seems less dragged down but he still won't eat anything. At least yesterday we got him to eat most of a banana over the course of the day, as well as a little bit of applesauce and yogurt. Today he's only had a tiny bite of a ritz cracker and a tiny bite of toast. I can't even get him to eat goldfish. He has had a couple glasses of milk but he won't even drink juice. I started mixing his milk with water so he gets some of that as well.
He's been sleeping for about an hour this morning and I'm sure he'll take another nap in the afternoon like he did yesterday. Josh and I are getting a little antsy to get out of the house, so he just left to get blinds for the windows in Jack's playroom. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I've definitely got to leave the house for a little while. Maybe I'll just run to Target to return our broken water filter... Doesn't that sound like fun?
